If you suspect that there might be pests in your apartment, submit a fault report immediately. Even if you are not certain of your observation, submit a fault report to be on the safe side. If you are not sure which pest you are dealing with, describe it as closely as possible in the fault report (what it looks like, how it behaves, where you found it, and so on).
If possible, attach a picture of the pest you found to the fault report, or collect a sample of the pest (for example, closing one in a bottle). There are many types of pests, and not all of them require control measures. However, TYS takes all suspected cases of pest occurrence seriously and uses industry professionals as partners in pest control.
Free pest control and inspections
An exterminator’s inspection visit and pest control are free of charge for you, as long as you have taken care of the cleanliness of your apartment and follow the instructions you receive from TYS and the exterminator. However, as the lessor, we are not liable for compensation if pests have caused damage to your movable property.
Failure to report pest sightings and disregarding the exterminator’s instructions can result in the tenant being liable for compensation, so don’t hesitate to submit a fault report.
Cleanliness is the cornerstone of prevention
You can personally contribute to pest prevention and control by ensuring the basic cleanliness of your apartment. Take the garbage out often enough and store food that may attract pests in closed containers. However, there is no need to feel bad if you suspect pests in your apartment, because their appearance is not always the result of an untidy apartment.
Please also take care of, for example, the cleanliness of the waste collection points. Never leave rubbish on the ground or some other uncovered place, and always make sure that waste container lids are properly closed.
Feeding birds in yard areas is strictly prohibited, as bird food attracts mice and rats, among other things, in addition to birds.
