Accessibility statement
This accessibility statement applies to the tys.fi website of the Turku Student Village Foundation (TYS). The Act on the Provision of Digital Services (306/2019) applies to the housing application process and tenant selection.

Compliance status
The website is partially compliant with the accessibility requirements. The known content that does not yet meet all requirements is described below.
Non-accessible content
Video on the front page
The visual content of the brand video on the Finnish front page has no separate text alternative. Its information is therefore not fully available without watching the video. This issue has not yet been resolved. Accessibility requirement: WCAG 2.1, 1.2.1 Audio-only and Video-only (Prerecorded).
3D apartment tours
The virtual apartment tours on the Finnish 3D apartment images page do not provide comprehensive text descriptions of all visual information, including the layout and views of the rooms. Descriptive names have been added to the embedded tours, but these do not replace text alternatives to their content. This issue has not yet been resolved. Accessibility requirement: WCAG 2.1, 1.1.1 Non-text Content.

Assessment and improvements
The assessment is based on Traficom’s simplified accessibility inspection of 29 October 2026 and the technical and keyboard checks performed in connection with corrections on 5 November 2026. The checks covered the 24 distinct Finnish pages listed in Traficom’s report and shared website functions. In the report, the front page was inspected both with the cookie banner open and after a cookie choice.
The corrections enabled browser zoom, named news image links and service icon links, added names to 3D and map embeds, improved keyboard access to cookie information and corrected text contrast issues identified in the report. Visible text labels were added to the service icons on the Finnish resident activities page.
This was a limited review, not a comprehensive audit of every WCAG requirement across the entire website. Other language versions, downloadable files, the chat service and separate apartment search, applicant and tenant services were not comprehensively assessed in this review.

The Turku Student Village Foundation is responsible for handling feedback. We respond to accessibility feedback within two weeks.
Enforcement procedure and supervisory authority
If you encounter an accessibility problem, please first send feedback to us. If you are not satisfied with our response or do not receive one within two weeks, you can file an accessibility complaint or request an investigation by Traficom (instructions in Finnish).
