The leasing out of apartments undertaken by Turku Student Village Foundation requires the processing of personal data. We collect personal data for the purposes of establishing and maintaining customer relationships, employment relationships or collaboration partnerships. Personal data are used, for example, to maintain a customer relationship, to conduct customer satisfaction surveys, for communications, to do maintenance and repairs of apartments, and for marketing apartments. We are paying particular attention to protecting the privacy of the data subject and personal data concerning the data subject, and we are acting in compliance with good data management practices as well as with any regulations and guidelines on data protection currently in force.
We collect personal data mainly from the data subject. Additionally, we may collect personal data from sources such as the credit information register of Suomen Asiakastieto Oy and the population information system of the Digital and Population Data Services Agency.
In addition, we may collect data concerning the terminal devices of users on our websites using cookies and other similar techniques, such as web analytics. Read more about our cookie policy here.
As a rule, we do not release any of the collected data outside TYS. Data may be released or transferred – within the boundaries of legislation currently in force – for example to authorities, to contracting partners carrying out debt collection for TYS, and to collaborating partners in order to provide housing-related services (for example, maintenance and repairs).
As per data protection legislation, you have the right to request confirmation by the data controller (TYS) on whether your personal data are being processed in our registers. You also have the right to inspect what personal data concerning you we are holding, and the right to request the deletion or rectification of saved personal data. The request to delete is fulfilled if possible within the boundaries of statutory retention periods and other obligations.
You must prove your identity in order to have your requests fulfilled. The written request shall be sent to the person in charge of register matters (contact details below). The request may also be made by a personal visit to TYS’s housing office.
