All TYS housing locations started to use parking permits via the eParking application this spring. Tenants have been able to apply for non-heated parking spaces in their housing location since February.
Parking control will now start monitoring the permits of parked vehicles. A parking permit has already been required at the parking areas of Aitiopaikka, Ikituuri, Nummenranta, Student Village West and Yo-talot. In these areas, parking control has already been in effect.
Please note that parking on the yard areas and emergency access routes is forbidden. However, you are allowed to drive in the yard temporarily while moving in or out or otherwise transferring goods for a short time.
Reminders first, fines later
Parking control will check the permits of parked vehicles based on their registration numbers. If you have not yet reserved a parking permit for your vehicle via eParking, please do so now – you can find the instructions on our website.
We have advised parking control to only give out reminders in the new control areas, at first. Our aim is to ensure that all tenants have time to learn the new parking instructions and get a parking permit for their vehicle.
After a short transition period, vehicles parked without a permit will receive a parking fine.
