At the beginning of July, TYS started the refurbishment of the A, B, C, D and E stairs of the Kuunsilta housing location. The refurbishment will include 42 fully renovated apartments, six of which are 1 bedroom apartments and the remainder studios. New tenants will be able to move into the apartments on February 1st.
The application period for apartments has started and all apartments and floor plans can be found in the apartment search on the TYS website. You can apply for apartments through the TYS website by filling out a housing application and selecting the desired Kuunsilta apartment types for your application.
A quarter of the apartments have been reserved for those already living in TYS apartments. TYS tenants can apply for the apartments by filling out an internal transfer application. Tenants who already have a valid application in the system can add their desired Kuunsilta apartment types to their application.
No deposit is required for new rental agreements made for the apartments, because TYS will start a pilot project to give up deposits next year. Holders of defaults will continue to be charged a deposit equal to three months’ rent.
