As part of TYS’s 60th anniversary celebrations, we are organising a guided cycling tour for our tenants in cooperation with the Bryggman Foundation on 16th September from 4 to 6 p.m. The tour explores the architecture and history of TYS housing locations. The tour will be guided in both Finnish and English. The event is also part of the Bryggman Institute’s themed year dedicated to architectural competitions.
During the tour, we will explore what student housing has looked like throughout the decades and how it has evolved from the 1950s to the present day.
The journey begins at the Yo-talot and follows a guided cycling route of approximately 5 kilometres through the Student Village and other TYS housing properties in the area, all the way to Pilvilinna in Räntämäki. There is a Fölläri city bike station at Yo-talot where participants can rent a city bike if they don´t have their own.
