The charging stations are next to the Fölläri stop of Ikituuri and next to Tyyssija along Inspehtorinkatu, and are available for use free of charge.
Is your electric bike’s battery running low? If your route goes through the Student Village, you can now charge up your bike at the free bike charging stations along Inspehtorinkatu! The charging stations are next to the Fölläri stop of Ikituuri and the housing location Tyyssija.
Using the charging stations is simple: just open the hatch and follow the instructions you can find inside. The charging stations have the charging cords for the most common electric bike batteries (Shimano, Yamaha and Bosch), and an outlet for your own charging cord.
Thanks to the fast charging technology, just a 30-minute charge gives your electric bike 20 kilometres of more distance. The charging stations also include a bike stand, so you can lock your bike to it during the charging session. The stations allow charging two bikes simultaneously.
The charging stations have been developed as part of the RESPONSE and KAEV projects of the Turku University of Applied Sciences’ New Energy Research Center.
RESPONSE is a joint European project striving to build sustainable cities, which focuses on issues such as the availability and price of energy and balancing its environmental impacts through new technological solutions and inclusion of residents.
TYS is one of the partners of the RESPONSE project.
