Do you have clothes, books or other stuff you don’t need at home? Come and sell them at TYS Recycling Day on Wednesday, 25th of September from 2 PM to 5 PM at TYS n’ Chill!
Free seller spots are available to TYS tenants. The spots will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis from 1.30 PM onwards. There is a limited number of tables available and some floor space, where you can place your sellables on your own cloth or a quilt, for example. Everyone selling their stuff will get a Turku dishcloth designed by KUI Design as a gift!
During the event, you can also win recycling-themed prizes in the TYS Recycling Quiz, snag yourself a map of thrift shops in the Turku region, and ask TYS staff for advice about daily sorting and recycling.
Finnish Red Cross (SPR) will organize a clothing swap point during the event. Clothing swaps are a great way to update your wardrobe sustainably and affordably: bring your unnecessary, clean and good-condition clothes and exchange them from something you like! You can also meet Olkkari-Lounge volunteers and learn more about their activities.
After the event, there will be an Olkkari-Lounge evening in the very same premises from 6 PM to 8 PM. The evenings theme is arts & crafts!
Tyyssija’s Restaurant Block will feed the hungry participants, serving food at student-friendly prices till 6 PM.
Restaurant Block’s offers on the event day, September 25th:
- Coffee and bun €1.50 all day!
- Leftover food in your own container, 1L, €4 between 6:00 PM and 6:30 PM (additional charge of €0.50 for using the restaurant’s container).
