Parking control fines to change on 1st February 2025

TYS housing locations have parking control in place. Parking control aims to ensure that the parking spaces close to TYS locations are available to TYS tenants. Parking control also aims to ensure safety in the area so that incorrectly parked vehicles do not cause hazards, such as blocking visibility or entryways.

The parking control fines will change on 1st February 2025. The company providing the parking control services, ParkkiPate Oy, will raise their fine to 60 euros. This fine is the same as elsewhere in the Turku region.

Please find attached the parking control services’ announcement on the topic. For other parts, parking control will remain as it is. This means that parking in both free and paid parking spaces requires a valid parking permit via the eParking system.

To avoid unnecessary fines, please check that your parking permit is valid. You will need a parking permit for both free and paid parking spaces. Please note that you also need to reserve a space from the parking area after your application has been approved. When making your reservation, you will be asked to enter your vehicle’s registration number. Your parking permit will become valid only after you enter the registration number.

When parking in the free spaces, please note that the parking permit is only valid for one vehicle at a time. This is why you should remember to change the active registration number if you are letting a guest use your parking permit temporarily, for example.
