Midsummer opening hours (and three Midsummer charms!)

Here are the opening hours of our TYS Customer Service and Office during Midsummer:

Thu 18th June – TYS Customer Service and Office are open from 10am to 1pm

Fri 19th June – Closed

Finnish Midsummer celebrations are traditionally associated with playful Midsummer charms and superstitions, so here are three charms for our tenants to try out:

1. Walk around the Student Village on Midsummer’s Eve and count all the pheasants and foxes you see. The number tells you how many years it will take until you graduate.
2. Save water by taking your morning shower in under five minutes on Midsummer Eve, and the grade of your future thesis or degree work will appear in the bathroom mirror.
3. Unplug all unnecessary electrical appliances, close the windows, and lock the front door if you’re going away for Midsummer. If you did everything right, you can hear your future spouse’s name when the door slams shut.
