Flea market, recycling advice, donation opportunity, and a waste container
Do you have clothes, books, or other household items at home that you no longer need? Did you know they don’t belong in waste collection points? Instead, come sell them at TYS Recycling Day on Thursday, 7th May, from 12:00 to 15:00 in the inner courtyard of Tyyssija!
Sales spots are free, and no advance booking is required. Just show up at Tyyssija’s courtyard with your items and choose a spot yourself.
Lounais-Suomen Jätehuolto (LSJH) and Turku Ekotori will also be present at the event.
Lounais-Suomen Jätehuolto (LSJH) Environmental educators will be at the event to share up-to-date information on waste management. Come learn about recycling different types of waste, material reuse, test your recycling skills in a fun game, and ask their experts for tips and answers to your sorting questions. Turku Ekotori will host a Pop-Up collection for reusable small items, clothing, and small furniture that are clean and in good condition. Small electrical devices are accepted in any condition.

At the TYS stand, you can take part in a recycling quiz, pick up a flea market map of the Turku area, and get advice from TYS staff on everyday sorting and recycling questions.
In addition, during the event there will be a waste container near Tyyssija where TYS tenants can bring unusable items, furniture, and electronics.

On TYS Recycling Day 7th May, we are organizing two workshops for TYS tenants where you can share your ideas and concrete suggestions. Come tell us what we could do differently or better to make recycling smoother, clearer, and more pleasant for everyone.

The workshops will be held at the TYS office (Inspehtorinkatu 12A, 25040 Turku).
