New students arrive every day, filling the streets with joy and excitement\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Second year students became an obsolete model, and as such, I decided to become a tutor for the new people in my programme, which I soon realised it was a great responsibility: they\u2019re gonna see some parts of Turku through my lenses. They\u2019re gonna ask me about the university, people and places, and even though they will make their own opinion later on, they will take my words as some sort of first impression.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-16541\" src=\"https:\/\/tys.fi\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/2ndpictureAugust2ndpost-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"233\" height=\"175\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tys.fi\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/2ndpictureAugust2ndpost-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/tys.fi\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/2ndpictureAugust2ndpost-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/tys.fi\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/2ndpictureAugust2ndpost-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/tys.fi\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/2ndpictureAugust2ndpost.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 233px) 100vw, 233px\" \/>So far, the only problem I\u2019ve encountered is:<\/p>\n<p>How can I tell them that Turku is the prettiest city in the world, that Finns are the nicest people, and that our University is the best, without looking corny and unprofessional?<\/p>\n<p>Yes, I might be a bit bias, but so far, I haven\u2019t met a single person regretting living here\u2026\u2026.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-16544 alignleft\" (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>So if you\u2019re a new student and you\u2019re nervous about living in a different country and probably studying in a different language, the only risk you should
